Isle of Hope, Georgia
What living on a boat is really like!! The lock breaking on your door (which had been giving us trouble for awhile now) and being locked out in the middle of a huge thunderstorm! Bill ended up removing the lock, using a bicycle lock for while on the door and then installing new lock when we could get one.
Shrimping is big around here
-We spent 4 days here at the Isle of Hope near Savannah. Bill needed to spend time preparing the boat for storage. He said he needed a week, so we split it between here and Hinkleys where we will store in a few days.
-I finally got to an urgent care and had my wrist/hand X-rayed. Not broken! Not sure how much faith I have in their diagnosis as the urgent care was in a reconverted gas station, the sign outside advertised $99. doctor visits, lawn chair furniture in the office, no nurse and a doctor that covers 6 urgent cares. They did have an Xray machine though!
-Savannah is a really great city with lots of history and lots to see and do. We went on a great narrated trolley ride all over downtown hearing about the history there. Bill chose not to go as history is not his thing. He says, " So what, everything around here is old."
-Patriot arrived here. We keep seeing them over and over even though we think we'll never see them again. We had a great time hanging out with them in downtown Savannah. The free marina courtesy van was awesome and we used it constantly while we were there.
