Leg #3 of the Loop Done!!!

A Happy guy!  Celebrating  arriving in Savannah - The end of a successful 3 1/2 months on the loop.

- A  successful  leg #3 of the loop! No major mishaps, boat problems, navigations issues, sandbar groundings and still  married!  We began just west of  Lake Ockochobee, Fl., crossed to the Bahamas and spent 6 weeks in the Abacos Islands,  then took a month traveling up the ICW to Savannah, Georgia.  Our boat is stored on the hard at Hinkley's in Savannah, Georgia until we begin leg #4 of the loop.

Perfect Day looks strange with the canvas down and out of the water.
-Bill worked like a maniac for a week getting the boat ready to be stored.
-When the boat was pulled he found lots oyster buds in the strainers for the air conditioning and engine intakes - surprise!! Bill cleaned out everything, good as new.
-The bottom of the boat and props looked great.
-The zinc plates were really eroded, and they were new 4 months ago. Bill's best guess is that with all the electrical issues in the Bahamas there was a whole lot of electrical current in the water somewhere.
-He changed the engine oil in both engines  (saving us $300
        per engine.)
-He did a great job, cleaning, waxing, covering port holes and preparing the boat for storage. I did my part, but my part is not like his part!!!
-Everything in the boat that was fabric (clothing, towels, carpet, pillows, etc.) was put into  bags to avoid the mold issue.  We left a dehumidifier on and we'll hope.  We had no mold issues inside the boat when we stored  it near Lake Okochobe , Florida last time, but LOTS of mold problems on the outside. We didn't know that it rained everyday there and mold was an issue.  We were only concerned about a safe area from hurricanes!
-It was a ton of work getting it ready to store!
-Took an afternoon off "work" and drove over over to Tybee Island, 30 min. away.  This is the beach playground for Savannah.  The AVP is holding a tournament here this month.
Tybee Island
-We'll be  flying back and will stop  in Austin, Texas to visit Taylor. We're going to pick up Kayla there, rent a car, then  DRIVE twenty-two hours to Ca.  All of that for a dog!!

-Our plan right now (which could change!!) is to come back about the beginning of Sept. for another 2 months heading up to the Chesapeake Bay.
