Spring break at Daytona Beach! The beach is 23 miles long. These pictures were taken at the empty end, other parts of it were party city. We missed the college cheerleader competition tomorrow, darn. We rode our bikes everywhere around here. I used to have 21 gears on my bike. Now due to rust and weather I only have one. We stayed 2 nights - at Halifax Marina downtown (nice) and also at Adventure Marina. Adventure Marina was a real adventure with a depth of 4.7 ft. in the VERY narrow channel going in (our draft is 3.9) Yuk!! At low tide there are sandbars showing all over the ICW. We make sure we are entering and leaving marinas on the high tide. The ICW water is muddy brown. The locals "say" there are no alligators but I would never believe it.
Daytona Beach - cars drive on it, the sand is white, powdery and hard like cement
traffic lanes on the beach for cars
Lunch at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant on the Daytona Pier- Forest Gump memorabilia everywhere
Daytona
bridge opening for us
The ICW
Man-O-War (like a jellyfish b t the sting is worse) all over the beach
