BACK ON THE LOOP!! LEG 5!!
6/19 16
Back to the boat!! We packed a ton of stuff into 6 short weeks when we went home. We are now very proud first time grandparents! Our priority was to be there when the baby was born and we were.
Our new grandson, Jack, was born on June 15, Bill's mom's 80th birthday. A big, healthy baby boy. Both Heather and Jack are doing great! An added bonus was a visit home by Taylor to play in the Manhattan AVP.
The boat looked good when we got here. The new cover we had made helped tremendously. After 4 trips to Walmart to provision we are ready to go. We only spent one day crawling up and down the ladder constantly as Perfect Day was on the hard, up in the air on jackstands. The next day they had us in the water. We did have power while we were on the hard so we could run some lights. We had some engine work done while we were in dry dock which hopefully went well. One thing we did preventive - having them use barncacle buster thoughout the engine to clean it out (oyster buds, barnacles, anything growing...). A lot of junk came out though we don't know what it was.
Ess Kay Marina where we stored the boat- Brewerton, NY
The air is 92 and the water here is 78. It actually feels like the Bahamas -a warm wind and humidity. When we left we were using the heater and now we are using the air conditioner.
We are ready to finish this loop through Canada! It should take us 6 weeks. We will be going about 600 miles through through the Trent Severn Waterway (and its 45 locks) and the Georgian Bay back to Chaarlevoix where we began.
