The Big Plan
We are going to spend a month at the Lake Charlevoix House. This will give us a few weeks to finalize the purchase of "Perfect Day" and get comfortable maneuvering her.
Our departure day is Aug 15th,depending on weather.
We will take 2 weeks south to Chicago. Plan to begin the trip from Chicago downriver the first week of September and travel down the Illinois River to the Mississippi River just past Saint Louis. We then go east on the Ohio River a short distance to the Tennessee River. We are not taking the Mississippi River to the Gulf because of barge traffic and the Tennesse route is suppose to be beautiful.
Plan to store the boat in Tennessee through the winter. We'll be back to pick up the boat and continue on our trip next February
We plan to be underway until Oct 15 and then travel back to Mi. by rental car or plane to pick up our truck. We will then drive back to home arriving home around the 20th.
We are completing The Great Loop over a 3 year time span. We'll be on The boat for 3 months at a time and then home for 3 months.
