Peterborough marina- First time there has been a rainbow in the fountain - and we saw it!
Saw a great rock - blues concert, the Last Waltz. It was right next to the marina. Members of the band played at Woodstock years ago. Thousands of people were there.
Went to the framers market. Pastries are a big thing here and quite few houses have signs out front with bakery items for sale. Butter tarts are the specialty (like a tiny pecan pie).
It is a holiday weekend here. so things are busy on the water. Petersborough is big and nice - largest city around except for Toronto. Stayed here 2 nights.

The lock entering Peterborough was broken when we arrived and they had divers working on it. We waited 45 minutes for them to fix it, but other boats waited hours. When one lock breaks down the whole canal system is jeopardized.
Went pub crawling with "Our Venture", Mike and Vicky. We've gotten together with them alot this week for doctkails or dinner as we've ended up in the same places.
The lock here is the largest hydraulic lock (90 feet) in the world.
Bill ordered a new water pump which actually arrived the next day - and he got it installed. Having water come out of the faucets again is awesome!
As we left here of the locks here was shut down as kids had thrown picnic benches and other junk in it during the night. The lock had to be cleaned out before it could be operated (water depth in the lock is only about 6 feet).
Perfectt Day is on the lock platform being raised 90 feet up into the air.
Very lucky with the weather. It is still really hot, 85 degrees. Storms keep missing us.

You have to have a boat operators permit (take class and pass a test) to operate any type of boat. Americans have a 45 day grace period.
