Windsor Island was the most beautiful, remote anchorage We were the only boat there along with Lerylyne. Getting through the narrow, rocky, shallow channel entrance was tough (I was on the bow looking for rocks) and we wouldn't have made it in without local knowledge we had been given. We had a spagetti dinner on board Lerylynne while a storm came through.
It is so hot and muggy that if you have to choose air conditioning has become way more important than lights.
Weather is a huge issue all the time, and it changes constantly.
It is so beautiful here that we are blown away.
Heading up the marked small craft channel. It's way easier following another boat!
Still Waters hit something right in the middle of the marked channel and had some damage they had to be pulled out for later on. They were the middle boat of 3 of us on the same path - the other 2 boats were fine - go figure.
The marinas around here advertise fiberglass repair and props. It's a huge business. We wonder if they go out and secretly move the channel markers to get new business. Bill has become very cynical. Whenever a local gives us directions to a place he askes if they own a prop shop.
At the Orillia boat show there was a large truck full of boat props they were selling. We wish we had spares on board.
Everyone jokes about traveling slow - every 1000 rpms you go up could cost you $1000 in boat damage.
Entrance to Wright's marina.
Rocks everywhere!
Wrights's Marina - Hanging out in the boaters lounge locals giave us advice as to where to go next. We just changed alot of our destinations based on their advice -they better be right!
