                                    A LONG DAY TO ORILLIA
A marathon day to get to Orillia.  We did 40 miles in 8 hours: 7 locks, 3 swing bridges, many narrow channels, and crossed Lake Simcoe (an 18 mile lake).  The starboard engine overheated.  It turned out we were really lucky and it was two minor  things - grass in the strainers and the engine synchronizing bolt had come loose.  We were really worried as we thought we had hit something, but all was OK.

Orillia ia a great town and the place to get provisions before heading up the Geoergian Bay. We stayed here for 4 nights as all the marinas  ahead were booked out and there were no available walls or anchorages.  We never expected it to be so crowded up here for boating.

We were very social here - docktails pubs and meals with Our Venture, Learylyne and Still Waters.

We were invited to visit a Canadian couple's home and go swimming in their pool.  We beat them at pool paddleball,
Americans versus Canadians - Americans got the gold!

1902 original train bridge and still working.  The operator has to start the engine by hand in the little house each time to open the bridge.

So narrow!!
Great driving skills  required!  We have about 4 feet clearance on either side.

Me boogie boarding while waiting for the lock to open.
