Bill is the all- time marathon driver!  He just arrived back to the boat in Mississippi after driving 2000 miles in 2 1/2 days.  He rented a car and drove up to Michigan to pick up his truck that we left there in July, and then turned right around and drove back to the boat in Mississppi.  His idea not mine!  I stayed on the boat at Grand Haven Marina in Mississippi while he was gone (way better).  It took us 2 months to do those 1000 miles by boat, and then only 2 ½ days by car! Now when its time to go home we will have our truck in Mississippi ready to go.

On the way back Bill stopped at Ikea in Chicago and bought 2 chairs for the boat.  We saw them on someone else’s boat and they were just what we needed.  The funny thing is that when he carried the old chairs (bright yellow and pink floral pattern) up the dock someone saw them and wanted them.  They had curtains of that exact material and were thrilled to have them. It was meant to be!

We borrowed the marina courtesy car and attempted to visit Shiloh Memorial National Park in Tennessee.  It was one of the first big battles of the  Civil War.  110,000 men fought there and 24,000 were either killed or wounded.  With the federal government shut down the park was closed.  However  security people were still working  to make sure you didn’t get to see it!  The public road goes right through the park.  We got reprimanded by  security for stopping our car there to take pictures.
