                                                                    Manteo

It was a long, rough trip up the Pamlico Sound to Manteo.   Seven and half hours with 15 -20 mile/hr NW winds against us with a long fetch (70-80 mile area to build up a big swell).  It was our longest day on the water so far.  Neither of us got sick (actually neither of us has ever gotten sick).

Manteo is a very small, cute touristy town.  It is home of the Lost Colony (the first attemtpted colonization of America),  Fort Raleigh and the Elzabethan Gardens.  Every town has something to attract tourists!
